Lori and Interpreting PLACE
Make your kids "artists-in-residence" by creating a layered mixed media art piece that celebrates
Michigan land and lore. Explore, discover and interpret the spirit of Michigan through your senses and art!
Artists as naturalists record what they see, hear, and feel outdoors to tell story of their experience.
"Come to your senses" and record your own experience as you learn about personal connection with place.
We’ll first meet indoors for a quick slide show and talk. Then after practicing sketching basics and making
a portable “field note” guide, we’ll hit the trail and GO FIND SPRING! on a timed Sensory Scavenger
Hunt. Taking gathered materials and clues we’ll use texture, words, fibers and watercolor techniques to
create a piece of art that records the day!
*Bring a sack lunch!
